On January 10, 2025, Dalian University Holdings, a leading international semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary, Shiping, has launched a dual channel isolated driver IC evaluation board solution based on the onsemi NCP5156x chip.
Realizing high power density in a compact size has become the core goal of current industrial power supply design. To achieve this goal, engineers must consider all aspects of the design. In this context, Dalian University has launched a dual channel isolated driver IC evaluation board solution based on the onsemi NCP5156x chip, aiming to shorten the design cycle of power products through excellent isolation performance, efficient driving capability, and convenient evaluation environment.
The NCP5156x series is an isolated dual channel gate driver launched by onsemi, with peak pull and sink currents of 4.5A/9A, designed specifically for fast switching driving power MOSFETs and SiC. The NCP5156x series provides short and matched propagation delay, independent 5kVRMS internal current isolation input to each output, and internal functional isolation output driver between the two, allowing operating voltages up to 1500VDC. In addition, this driver has extremely high flexibility and can be configured as two low side switches, two high side switches, or a half bridge driver with programmable dead time. Through the ENA/DIS pins, users can easily set both outputs to high or low in ENABLE and DISABLE modes, enabling or disabling them simultaneously.
In addition, NCP5156x also provides other important protection functions, such as independent undervoltage locking time adjustment for gate drivers and Dead Zones.
With the continuous development of power electronics technology, the demand for high-performance isolated driver ICs in the industry will continue to grow. In the future, Da Da Da Da Da Shi Ping will continue to work closely with global advanced semiconductor suppliers such as onsemi, continuously launching more innovative and practical solutions to meet the market's design needs for high-efficiency power products.
