12V&48V intelligent power distribution system solution, breaking through the bottleneck of traditional power distribution
With the rapid development of electric vehicles and intelligent assisted driving technology, the continuous evolution of automotive electronic and electrical architecture, multi module collaborative operation, and the continuous improvement of functional safety standards have become important issues facing the industry. The 12V&48V intelligent power distribution system that won this award is an innovative solution launched by Pinjia in collaboration with Infineon's technical team. This solution adopts an intelligent distribution architecture that deeply integrates software and hardware, and is compatible with both 12V and 48V dual voltage platforms. During design, high-power loads such as chassis, amplifiers, and thermal management can be distributed in a 48V system, while low-power loads such as radar, lighting, wipers, doors, and windows can be distributed in a 12V system. The plan also reserves 12V/48V load channels to meet various expansion needs.

Not only that, the solution supports multi-channel communication and flexible configuration, with programmable protection logic that can achieve real-time diagnosis, warning protection, and recoverable control, fully in line with the trend of future automotive electronic and electrical regionalization and safety level improvement. At present, the plan has been approved by the car factory and prototype testing has been completed.

At the technical implementation level, this solution introduces a recoverable eFuse design. After triggering the protection mechanism, the system can reset without replacing any components, significantly reducing the customer's subsequent maintenance costs and operational burden. Compared with traditional fuses that only provide single overcurrent protection, this design has comprehensive diagnostic and protection capabilities, which can monitor and quickly respond to various fault situations such as overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature in real time, providing more refined and predictable protection for the safety of vehicle power distribution. In addition, in terms of safety design, this solution strictly follows the functional safety process from the initial stage, and can support safety requirements up to ASIL D level, which can meet the strict standards for safety and reliability of core components in the era of intelligent driving.
