Become a standard feature of Siemens Flotherm! Rom expands the high-precision EROM lineup of shunt resistors

Post on Jan 01,1970

Shanghai, China, November 18, 2025- Global renowned semiconductor manufacturer ROHM (headquartered in Kyoto, Japan) announced today that it has further expanded its lineup of EROM (Embedded BCI-ROM) * 1 models for shunt resistors and has released them on ROHM's official website. In addition, this model will be adopted as a standard feature of the Siemens electronic device specific thermal design aid tool "SimcenterTM FlothermTM * 2".

ROHM's shunt resistors have been widely used in various application fields such as automotive and industrial equipment, and have received high praise for their high-precision current detection performance and high reliability. This time, ROHM has added the EROM model of the "PMR series" to the publicly available shunt resistor "PSR series".

The EROM model has ultra-high accuracy, with an error of only ± 5% between the measured values in terms of surface temperature Δ T and component thermal resistance. By conducting thermal analysis in environments close to actual use, it helps to improve the simulation accuracy during the thermal design phase and enhance development efficiency.

Moreover, the EROM model is also used as a standard for SimcenterTM FlothermTM, which enables component manufacturers and machine manufacturers to share thermal analysis models more conveniently, achieving high-precision and high-efficiency simulation while protecting confidential information.

Roma will continue to provide stronger support for customers' design and development from both components and simulation models in the future.

<Terminology Explanation>

*1) EROM (Embedded BCI-ROM)

SimcenterTM FlothermTM can output low dimensional models. It can be shared in a state of hiding (black box processing) the internal structure (confidential information) of the product, and high-speed and high-precision analysis can be carried out.

*2) SimcenterTM FlothermTM

Siemens provides CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation tools specifically for thermal and cooling design of electronic devices. From the initial design stage to the verification stage, rapid and high-precision thermal analysis helps achieve highly reliable thermal design.
