Small devices have a working voltage of up to 500 V, strong overload capacity, resistance to high temperature, high humidity, vibration, and electrical stress

MALVERN, Pennsylvania, USA, Shanghai, China - November 21, 2025- Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) recently announced the launch of a new 30 W thick film power resistor, LTA 30, which has passed AEC-Q200 certification, adopts a compact TO-220 package, and can be directly installed on the heat sink, meeting the growing demand for high-performance electronic components in the next generation of automotive applications.

The Vishay Sfernice LTA 30 has been carefully designed to ensure excellent reliability and durability even in extreme automotive environments. The device is resistant to high humidity, operating at temperatures up to+125 ° C, and has high resistance to vibration and electrical stress. In addition, the working voltage of the resistor can reach 500 V, with strong short-term overload capability (1.5 times rated power in 5 seconds), which can maintain stability under transient and high voltage conditions, ensuring consistent performance for safety critical applications.

The recently released device has a resistance value ranging from 0.010 W to 450 kW, with a tolerance as low as ± 1%. It can be used as a pre charge or discharge resistor and is suitable for in car chargers, battery management systems (BMS), as well as electric vehicle (EV), hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) motor control. The device complies with RoHS standards, adopts a non inductive design, and has a dielectric strength of up to 1500 Vrms.

LTA 30 can now provide samples and has achieved mass production, with a supply cycle of 4 to 6 weeks.
